Raised on a Tennessee farm, Matthew developed a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility that continue to shape his approach to law. His three deployments in the U.S. Navy instilled leadership, problem-solving, and perseverance—qualities he now applies to advocating for his clients.


After earning his Bachelor of Science at Middle Tennessee State University, he pursued his Doctor of Jurisprudence at Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law, where he was a Dean’s List honoree and an Abraham Lincoln Scholarship recipient. His academic and professional journey sharpened his ability to navigate complex legal matters with confidence and strategic foresight.


Matthew has successfully litigated and led high-performing legal teams, defending insurance companies, businesses, and individuals in more than 1,000 cases involving personal injury, real estate conflicts, construction defects, and contract litigation. His strategic acumen and ability to manage multi-million-dollar matters across 19 states solidify his reputation as a formidable advocate, ensuring clarity and precision in every case. With deep expertise in insurance and risk management, he provides informed, tactical advocacy, equipping clients with a distinct advantage in mitigating risks and securing favorable outcomes.



Beyond the courtroom, Matthew remains deeply committed to his community, disaster recovery efforts, and policy development. He is married to Stephanie Coleman, and together they have two children. As a regular attendee of First Baptist Church Lenoir City, he upholds integrity and service as guiding principles in both his personal and professional life.
